Kautex is seeking a Sales Intern to partner with the team at the North American Headquarters in Troy, MI, in a dynamic way. The candidate will perform quality tasks under the supervision of a Sales Manager supporting all Sales functions.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Review new or amended contracts to confirm agreement to Kautex quotation (price, effective dates, capacity and terms etc.) in accordance with Kautex and Textron guidelines and procedures
Responsible for commercial activities including preparing quotations, settlement of accounts, follow up on invoicing queries and commercial administration activities
Assist Sales Management to define business development plans, market intelligence and sales forecasting
Support price negotiations
Deliver AOP forecasts in conjunction with Sales Management and manufacturing operations
Ensure strong financial control (sales portion) of Projects – i.e. positive cash flow including forecast; early invoicing; financial tracking
Support development and tracking of project related Performance Improvement Action Plan goals
Track open issues with customers, including quotes and orders
Process new or amended prototype and service orders, including ensuring delivery as applicable
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sales, Accounting, Finance, International Business, or any other related discipline
Prior experience working in an automotive environment is a plus
Ability to effectively manage multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
A clear understanding of contractual conditions relating to the sales of purchased goods and a commercial understanding of business practices including margin, profit, and basic financial procedures
Strong sales and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent telephone skills and computer knowledge with proficiency in database management and word processing
Experienced with Microsoft Office suite
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
Able to follow procedures & processes
Good mathematics skills
