Inspector Shipping & Receiving
* JOB SUMMARY: *
To inspect and ensure all parts are in new condition and meet quality control standards. Leads lower grade warehouse workers.
* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: *
Works from blueprints, parts catalogs, specifications and oral/written instructions to plan and perform inspection on spare parts.
Identifies parts and ensures acceptable appearance, function, tolerances, dimensions and specifications. Recommends disposition of parts that cannot be returned to stock as new.
Coordinates inspection activities with purchasing, inventory control, inspection engineering, manufacturing, customers and dealers to resolve a variety of parts problems.
Completes and maintains a variety of inspection paperwork.
Coordinates with Hazardous Material Coordinator to ensure material is properly stored, packaged and identified. Notifies environmental coordinator when hazardous material/waste needs picked up in accordance with established procedures.
Responsible only for own work.
* EDUCATION: *
High school education or equivalent plus knowledge of aircraft parts. Ability to read and understand blueprints, parts catalogs, and specifications.
A&P license preferred.
* EXPERIENCE: *
Two to three years aircraft parts receiving inspection.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
